Rollande, the octopus mom

"Rollande, the octopus mom" - by Zina Mufarrij, illustrator - Montréal

As you may have noticed, my mother is a woman of many talents. Not only is she a professional hairdresser, she is also part of a thousand and one administration council. In between, she manages to find time to sew a coat here and fix a furniture there. Everyday, she would prepare great meals, iron my father’s shirts, pamper Flambette (our family dog), keep the house so clean and tidy that we could eat of the floor, maintain the yard, care for all her plants, come give us a hand at the store and have an attentive ear for everyone… To top it of, she also writes in the Billie Girls’ blog.

Do not ask me her secret, I had to get over my own complex of not being able to do as much. I have come to realised as I watch her go, that we each have our own limits and those limits are non-existent for my mom.

Dear mother, we are so glad for your participation on our blog. Thank you!

I had the pleasure to meet Rollande in person a few days ago. And, I have to say, the more she talked about her activities, the more I was amazed at how much a person can achieve in life, and how our implications can make a difference. She has inpsired me, and I am trying to figure out a way to do more in my day by being more organised.
